Canadian Contestants n' More heart pumping suspense.

I really think Canadians should be allowed to audition on the U.S. version of the Amazing Race. Canada and the U.S. are so close in culture, geography, and almost every aspect of everyday life, that it's basically the same country (excluding Quebec). I would love to audition for the Amazing Race, and who knows, maybe a few Canadian pairs could make it onto the show.

As for the drama and suspense, that it the main reason I love the show. Sure, the scenery is beautiful, and learning about different cultures great, but if that was my main purpose for watching the show, then I might as well be watching the Discovery channel, or the Travel channel. The suspense when a team misses a flight, the drama when teams fight over a taxi, the fingernail biting moments as the last two teams race to the finish line, those are the reasons I absolutely LOVE the Amazing Race. 10  out of 11 found this valuable. Basically Phil has commented that Canadians will never be allowed on The Amazing Race. Since The Amazing Race airs on CTV in Canada, he suggested that CTV make a Canadian Version. CTV has no incentive right now to do that, so we need to address this issue ourselves.

I've started a petition that hopefully all Canadian viewer will sign. Since CTV boasts that they average over 2 Million viewer per episode, let's get as many people as we can to sign up.

Well if they keep not having Canadian contestants than maybe push for a Canadian edition. It could be run in conjunction with the American version. That would save CBS from having to do all of the logistics twice. They could still run as a Summer replacement or sell the DVDs to Americans. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Basically Bert Van Munster has said that The Amzaing Race is "An American Show for an American Audience". Phil recently added in an interview with CTV that the only way Canadian would be allowed on the Amazing Race was for CTV to create its own version.

With that in mind there is now a petition that will be forwarded to CTV when we have enough signitures, so please have everyone that you know sign it:

Canadian contestants? Allow other contestants foreign to the US? Hmm, could be interesting. But lowering the age...... absolutely NOT a good idea imo. Some are already too boringly young to watch.

Many interesting suggestions posed in this thread. Glad I'm not a Producer!

My ideas? Keep on doing what you're doing, the show is progressing just fine. LOVE IT. (And thanks, btw.) Gabi

I know that this is really old thread but I hope someone will see it. I have been a fan of TAR sence it began and I think there might be a way of getting our own verson. As some of you might know but Tvtropolis has its own verson of WipeOut comming out this spring (2011)
I am on an up and comming episode of this show and I think that if it is sucessful they might jump at the chance to do something like this. Anyone who knows someone in the industy might want to put the bug in their ear :) Do you find this valuable?
