| RECORDS: -The Amazing Race 14 is the first season to change the intro from a map to a globe. -Luke is the first deaf contestant on the American version of The Amazing Race. -First time all the couples were eliminated so early into the race (the 4 couples were eliminated on the first four legs of the race). -Margie & Luke were the first team to use the Blind U-Turn. -Amanda & Kris were the first team to have incurred the Blind U-Turn -Mark & Michael were the first team to incur 2 penalties on the same Leg and to incur 2 penalties in 2 Legs in a row. -Returned to India for the 8th time, the country that is visited the most, excluding the United States. -3rd consecutive season to have a team perform a Speed Bump in India. -Mark & Michael have received the most number of penalties ever on the American version of The Amazing Race. -Kisha & Jen are the first team ever (on the American version) to arrive at the Pit Stop without their fanny pack (containing their passports and travel documents) -The most swear words in one episode.(Episode 9) - Most female racers in the Final 4. (6) - Kisha & Jen switched back and forth on their Detour the most out of any other contestants/teams. (3 Times) -This season hit the most All-Female team to get 1st place, with 3 different All-Female team hitting first place. -The first time someone was eliminated because of taking a toilet break - Leg 10 (Kisha & Jen) -First season where no teams used the Fast Forward. -Margie & Luke are the 1st mother/son to make it to the final 3 (But the 2nd overall Parent/Child team to make the final 3). -Jaime & Cara are the 4th team to make into the final 3 without an official Leg win. -Jaime & Cara are the 4th all-female team to make it to the final 3. -Most Legs in Asia in a Season: 7 Legs (8 if you count the Double Leg as two legs) -First time a country outside of the US was in 3 episodes in one season (China - episodes 9, 10 and 11) -First time both U-Turns eliminated the teams they were used on. -Tammy & Victor are the first Asian team to win The Amazing Race and also the 2nd sibling team following season 13. -Jaime & Cara are tied with the highest All-Female team placing: 2nd Place(with Dustin & Kandice from All-Stars) -Jaime & Cara is the team with the highest placing (2nd) without a Leg win. -1st Season where no team survived the Speed Bump -Mel & Mike are the oldest parent-child team in the history of the race - Kisha is the first African American lesbian on the race -Leg 4 is the first time that 3 all-female teams finished in the top 5 on the same leg | ||||||

This season of the show has now been officially ordered by CBS. CBS announced in a press release that the show would also return to the Sunday at a 8:00pm time slot on February 15th. The show began filming on or around October 31. The exact filming dates are unknown. In an interview for TV Guide, co-producer Bertram Van Muster revealed that the teams will visit Central Siberia, Russia and also Beijing, China. Bertram also promised that this season will feature "less airport drama". Bertram also revealed that this season will feature the first deaf contestant in The Amazing Race's American version. The deaf contestant is rumoured to be a male and will have to communicate entirely on sign language. According to AXN Latin American Website, the teams will begin in San Diego, California and in the first leg, they will visit Locarno, Switzerland and next Interlaken. Others cities will be Salzburg (Austria), Transylvania (Romania), Bangkok (Thailand) and the race will end in Hawaii. Another country was Germany, in which observers have spotted racers and camera crews. Here is CBS' description: Eleven teams compete in THE AMAZING RACE 14, traveling one of the most grueling courses ever assembled on the Race – spanning 40,000 miles and nine countries in just 22 days. Phil Keoghan will host. Teams will be faced with a multitude of extremes, including the world's second tallest bungee jump, bone-chilling Siberian temperatures followed by the suffocating heat of India, and an Olympic-sized challenge that leaves teams gasping for air. For the first time in the history of the Race, teams will travel to Romania and Siberia. “Heading into our 14th season, I wanted to pull out all the stops. We have extreme climates, intense roadblocks and less time in airports, which adds up to an exhausting course for the racers. Whether you’re a screenwriter, a Harvard graduate, a jockey or a carpenter, this Race will test your stamina, your heart and your will to win,” said Bertram van Munster, executive producer/co-creator of “The Amazing Race.” This 14th group of racers features an eclectic cast that includes a team of brothers who are stuntmen, a pair of flight attendants, a brother/sister team who are Harvard lawyers, an accomplished feature film writer/producer/actor and his father, a team of former NFL cheerleaders and the Race's first ever deaf contestant and his mother. | GOOD SITUATIONS: -Margie and Luke won the first Leg of The Amazing Race 14! -Christie & Jodi overcame their big mistake to edge out Preston & Jennifer in a footrace. -Steve thought of an ingenious way to complete the Cheese Route Info on Leg 1 in one trip up and down the hill really quickly though Linda was slow. This pushed them from 9th to 6th. -Tammy & Victor got the lead for the whole of Leg 2 after the cable car which departed in two minutes when they arrived. -Steve apologizing to Linda in Leg 2. -Christie & Jodi had jump from last place to 6th place on Leg 3! -Amanda & Kris quickly found their fanny pack on Leg 2. -Christie & Jodi jumping from 6th place to 1st place on Leg 4! -Margie & Luke, Tammy & Victor, Kisha & Jen and Christie & Jodi managed to kept their firewood stable. (Leg 4) -Tammy & Victor went from 8th place on Leg 3, to a strong 3rd place finish on Leg 4. -Margie & Luke finished first in Leg 5 -Christie & Jodi were Last to the Pit-Stop on Leg 5 but were saved by a Non Elimination leg -Tammy & Victor finished first in Leg 6 -Victor knows the true relationship with his sister in The Amazing Race after the 3rd Leg. -Tammy & Victor and Christie & Jodi found the telephone clue very quickly. -Mel & Mike were in last place during the taxi incident, but they caught up with the other teams which made them from last to 2nd. -Jamie & Cara finally found their taxi driver after the Detour on Leg 6. -Despite leaving the herb shop for the Detour in 5th place, Jaime & Cara managed to finish the Leg in 2nd Place on Leg 7. -Mark & Michael arrive last but was saved by the 2nd Non-Elimination leg -Kisha and Jen came in first on Leg 9! -Cara & Jaime arriving first at the Pit Stop on Leg 10. -Kisha and Jen were saved by a double-leg in Leg 10 despite coming in last -Tammy & Victor winning a total of 4 Legs -Tammy & Victor winning the race. | BAD SITUATIONS: -Preston & Jennifer became the first team eliminated from The Amazing Race 14 losing in a footrace to Christie & Jodi. -Preston & Jennifer missed their train to Locarno on Leg 1. -Christie & Jodi went on the wrong train to the cheese route info on leg 1 and fell to last place. -Linda & Steve arrived to the pit stop in 6th but could not find the mat, this pushed them from 6th place to 9th place on Leg 1. -Linda got lost in the Alps while performing the Roadblock on Leg 2. -Tammy & Victor got lost when finding the Vampire Remains Detour on Leg 3. -Brad & Victoria missed the connection flight in Amsterdam to Bucharest and had to get a flight the next day, ultimately leading to their elimination on Leg 3. -Amanda & Kris losing their fanny pack at the Gypsy Moves Detour on Leg 3, which put them from 1st place to 2nd. -5 teams missed the connecting flight in Moscow to Siberia on Leg 4. -Mark & Michael got lost when doing the "Construct" Detour choice on Leg 4. -On Leg 4, Amanda & Kris struggled with the Stack Detour because their Stack fell over so they switched to the Construct Detour. Once they completed that they found out they were U-Turned so they had to go back to the Stack Detour. They could not catch up to the other teams and they were sadly eliminated because of it. -Christie & Jodi went from 1st place to last place on Leg 5. -Christie & Jodi were eliminated because of their bad taxi driver on leg 6. -Mark & Michael incurred two 30 minute penalties putting them from 1st - 3rd. -Margie fainted at the Pit Stop on Leg 7 -Mel/Mike getting lost in ****** when their taxi driver unfortunately got lost which lead to part of their elimination. -In Leg 7, Jaime & Cara lost their lead because of the slow herb owner, which allowed 4 teams to pass them. In Leg 8,Kisha & Jen left their travel document at the roadblock location. -In Leg 8 Mark & Michael 's 4 hour penalty will continue on next leg -Cara & Jaime winning leg 10 only to find out that the leg has not yet ended. -Cara & Jaime having trouble finding taxis on Leg 10. -Kisha & Jen are U-Turned by Tammy & Victor on Leg 10. -Kisha & Jen lost to a footrace to Jamie & Cara, which lead to their elimination. -Jen went for a toilet break, allowing Jaime & Cara to pass them and Kisha & Jen were eliminated. -Despite earning a spot in the final 3 and finishing 2nd place,Jaime & Cara did not win any leg. -Luke started the final Roadblock first but struggled a lot and finished it last. | ||||||

I saw some reality show on NBC in the outdoors a few months ago on Friday night? I can't remember its name, but it was mostly shot outdoors, I was surprised that it was in High Definition. The outdoor scenes on the Amazing Race would lend themselves to a HD format with the beautiful scenes. Most sports programs are in HD and many news programs are making their way to the HD format, including 60 Minutes. I wonder when the Amazing Race will the switch. It would make the viewing so much better.

This was my favourite season ever, all of those arguing 'Alpha Teams' got eliminated in the first few legs leaving the best teams in the final 6. Then in the final 3, i didnt care who won because i likked them all.

What kind of teams would be cool for TAR 14? i think that they need a nerdy team again and definatley an oldder team that makes it pretty far through the race.
